We’re all supremely aware of the fact that since the major studios have been lead by businessmen rather than filmmakers they’ve been interested in making money rather than offering something fresh and new. This means a lot of remakes of films that were successful. They’ve chosen a lot of cult classics and/or lightning in a bottle movies – movies that shouldn’t have worked but somehow did. Since they use those types of films, the remakes suck. The Evil Dead (1981) would totally fit into that type – and so word of a remake sounds horrible. Until you see the trailer. Rather than attempting to replicate style, it looks like they used the premise as a jumping off point to make something really messed up. And I can’t wait.
This is a redband trailer – so please use your judgement, and it’s DEFINITELY NSFW.
